  1. There are a couple of factors to consider, the version of Linux and the age of your Mac.

    Newer Macs use Intel processors, so you shouldn't have to worry.

    If your Mac is a little older you'll need a Linux compiled for PowerPC.  Most of the mainstream Linux distros provide this option.


  2. If you're running OSX you're running Linux.

  3. I know there is a specific ISO download of Ubuntu for MACS http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases... Once downloaded you will need to create a bootable disc. from the ISO image.
