Resource said is dangerous for their kidney, well, then, I tried to cut off all of that, and concentrating on mixed food that usually provided by the pet store such as Goldblend, but my hammie don't want to eat, still searching Corn and sunflower seed. Stubborn hammie. Help, how to persuade my hammie to eat healthy food.

My hammie so high temper, if I don't let her come out from her cage, she could be angry by biting her toilet room and push it all around. How can I tame her to be kind and polite?

  1. i used to have a siberian hamster but its pretty much the same........he ate seed but not corn and he was totally fine

  2. Too many sunflower seeds can be very dangerous for your hamster! They contain high levels of fat, so ONLY feed her 5-10 seeds a day.

Here's how to get her out of her eating habit -

Firstly, pick out all sunflower seeds and corn from the commercial food mix. She will be agitated for a few days over this, and will probably dig the whole cage looking for them but after a week she will get over this habit.

During the week when she was agitated without her corn and sunflower seeds, put in lots of other treats in her cage like small bits of cheese, cornflakes, carrots and rice crispies to distract her from the corn & seeds.

Slowly but surely, after two weeks, she will have gotten over her habit of eating only seeds and corn and will have started eating other (healthier) foods as well.

    I hope this helps!
