Is that purring sound my guinea pig makes a good sign?

  1. My guinea pigs would do it when they were happy. And the boars (males) would especially do it when they saw or smelled a female.

  3. yes, mine did it when i rubbed his back, he loved it. but he died for an unknown reason... RIP...

  4. its just communicating and could be content, when they are scared they make a sort of whooping noise.

    - Do you have just one pig?

    - Is he doing this when you hold/pet him?

  6. sometimes it means they're in heat. it could also be a sign of contentment.
