1. No. That's the story the US government made up during World War II so we wouldn't feel guilty about those two atom bombs.

Yeah, it gives them superpowers and then they turn into giant robots with swords... or sometimes half-ghost half-human soul reapers with swords... or sometimes half-wolf demon half-humans with swords.  Although sometimes they turn into little yellow rats and yell their own name over and over... that's just annoying.

The main point is... if you eat babies you will get an awesome sword... probably with magical powers.
