  1. haha doing dishes ur lucky u don't have to give them money....My parents  been bumming money sence I was 12 mowing lawns and i'm 17 now...every time I'll pay u back they owe me over 10,000..lol but i do the dishes once in a while

  2. Wishful thinking onyour part.  There is no child labor laws for helping out around your own home.  Especially if you are old enough to do the task and from the level of your writing, you certainly are old enough to help out.

  3. I think it's a healthy part of child development to have chores.  And, it is not "child labor" to expect your children to help clean up after themselves.  It's a GREAT life skill!  It teaches them to be organized and accountable.  Plus, if us moms didn't ask for a little bit of help we may very well loose our minds!

    My children are responsible to:

    Make their beds every morning.

Put their dirty clothes in the hamper (everyday).

Put their dishes into the dishwasher when they have finished eating.

Pick up their toys when they have finished playing.

And, as needed I may assign other chores such as dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and otherwise helping me (age appropriate and within reason of course).

My kids in return are tidy, more organized and respect their property and the property of others.

  4. It's called responsibilities. My dads a big cleaning freak. he wold give my brother and I cleaning check off lists. Depending how many chores were done we would be rewarded. I would actually look forward in cleaning.

Now I'm a split image of my father it's not only made me a cleaner person but to also take pride in myself. By doing everything for them it's making them lazy and you'll be sorry in the long run.

  5. i do that stuff all the time i think it helps prepare for when i have my own life and house (my parents do not ask or make me do it) but it's nice to help out andall those kids who say "this is child labor" are just lazy and i think that would be a very stupid law to pass

  6. um sort of , my parents buy me lots of  video games, if I average it out it becomes $1.75 per day. The work I do is mowing the lawn, helping wash dishes, laundry, and vacuuming, also I babysit my sister during the day since I have nothing to do but study.

So I dont think the puny job that you are giving your kids is child labour, but I see what you mean with kids having to do less work now, my parents had to do much more work than me.

  7. Chores are not child labor.

Chores teach children to be responsible, to work for what they have.

When I was younger I did the dishes, vacuumed, and did the laundry. Mom was single and worked, the least I could do was help out around the house.
