  1. The Maxima is reliable, but not as reliable as a Camry or Accord. If you think a Maxima will be more fun to drive, you're wrong. Even the new body Maxima is kind of boring. If you want more performance, look at a used Infinti G35. It's still pretty reliable, but it's way more fun to drive.

  2. No, Nissan is not a reliable car at all. Get like a Toyota Camry sport edition

  3. Nissan makes a very reliable car,i have an older one that has well over 165 thousand miles on it with no major problems ever,I'm still on my original clutch in it,yes those hold up very well,Honda,s are good also but you cant go wrong with a good Nissan, the quality in their vehicles is as good as a Honda is,good luck.

  4. Nissan's aren't known for their reliability, but they're not Kia's either. I've heard good things about the older Maxima's. I would stay away from the Altima's just from a value standpoint. You can get one cheap because a lot of them are coming off rental fleets, but they lose value fast.

Don't buy a Camry Sport. That's a regular Camry with a half baked body kit...hardly "sport."

  5. Keep an eye on the mileage and Carfax history and you may well drive off in a wonderful 10-year best friend. A friend of mine bought the 2002 Maxima SE when it was new and it's still every bit as smooth as the day he drove it home. It has close to 75k miles too.

There's no real question as to who has the better chance of lasting another decade when the choice is between an Accord and a Maxima. But that's not to say the Maxima can't do it at all. In high school, a friend was handed down a 1987 Maxima that he still drives today (he's now a poor grad student). It has well over 200k miles on the original engine.

If you want a more exciting drive, consider a modification to the engine (in the form of a chip). Or trading up to the new Accord. The V6 is undeniably sprightly, as it has 268 horses.

  6. that last guy who said nissans are c**p is actually c**p. nissans are great cars but nowhere near amazing as honda. i mean, in terms of reliance. personally though, i would recommend a mazda6. they're reliable, fast, and really ******* exciting. by the way if you're bored with your car, try suping it up.

try getting a new exhaust and changing your filters.
