Question:

Is the 2008 Specialized Globe Sport a good bike?

This is my first road bike, I'm female, and looking to lose weight and commute. I would like to know if this is a good quality bike.

The bike is $549 at the store, but I have a feeling I can haggle for the price. I'd like a different seat if I get it and an odometer/speedometer. What are some techniques to negotiating price in a bike shop and how much lower on the prices will they tend to go?

(Thanks!)

  1. Yes this bike is a great bike if you are intending to ride for lesuier and/or commuting from point A-B (on the road)

this bike is designed for riding on the road with maximum comfort  use. this bike has a great combination of parts using both shimano and shram components.

this bike is ideal for  urban riding

thing to remember is to always test ride the bike 1st you mite find u don't like it

  2. I bought a Globe a couple of months ago.  It's a good bike for commuting.  I've had a couple flats on the rear tire.  Mine is the one without the fenders, rack and special wheels and I paid $489.  If I were buying again, I might consider one with a front suspension.  Sometimes my wrists take a lot of impact and a fork might help with that.  My commute is 7 miles each way, but I take side and neighborhood roads now which adds to the distance but is more pleasurable.  Bike seems to be solid so far.
