  1. Fuel use is good but not best in class.  I recommend you go 'whole hog' and get the STi.  It has arguably the best combination of reliability, performance and utility on the new car market

Also, the '09 WRX is much better than the '08 WRX in terms of added power and revised suspension

  2. I am on my third WRX now an I have never taken one in for any kind of problem.  Anything that happened was minor enough that I could fix it quickly and cheaply.  Over 110,000 miles on one of them and still ran like a champ when I sold it.  They have changed a little but the tranny in the new model is identical to the last which they have been using  for almost a decade.  The motor it self is also the same as the old so reliability is great.  Mileage is about average for an AWD car which will be a little lower than the FWD economy cars but I get about 25mpg and having one of the best AWD systems on the market is worth it.

  3. I have manufactured Subaru's for 25 years now, and the impreza's have changed dramatically. The fuel consumption is not the best averaging from 9-10 litres by 100km. An extremely reliable vehicle and great performance being an all wheel drive.

Overall great vehicle give it a 3/5

  4. http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Summ...

that tells you enough about it

go www.parkers.co.uk/cars to look at just abou every make (not all of em)

    scoobys are fantastic cars to

  5. For a base model Impreza, the drivetrain is mostly identical to the previous generation Legacy.. which means decent power and good fuel economy.. 30 mpg is easily obtained.. Reliability is second to none.. It's one of the reasons I bought my first Subaru.. 200K is easy for these cars.. the engine is a modified aircraft design, and the manual transmissions are very strong, when driven properly. Performance is good, if not exciting, as these engines make a load of low end torque...for a 4 cyl, they are very surprising, to say the least...

  6. Good vehicles? They are great vehicles. The gas mileage is decent but not great. All Subarus are all wheel drive so that lowers the mpg a bit. Fihure on getting mid to low 20s  in this one. The plus side to all wheel drive is that they handle better and are awesome in inclement weather. Reliability is a no brainer because Subarus in general are very reliable. Also the standard 2.5 liter 4 cylinder is far from a slouch. Need more power? Get the Impreza WRX.

  7. I have never test driven the 2008 subaru, but be warned these are not luxury cars!

they are in essence, performance minded cars with no reguard comfort.

My best bet, go to a dealership, endure through their marketing bs and test drive the vehicles to see how you like them.
