i know it looks good but that is not the only thing I'm concerned about. Is the EPA estimated gas millage really accurate or is it a lot lower. Is is a reliable car . Will there be lots of minor problems within a few years. What other cars would you guys recommend that would be better at a less than or equal to price.

Thanks in advance

  1. It is average in reliability, according to Consumer Reports. A good and more reliable alternative to the Volkswagen Jetta is the Mercury Milan.

  2. They are "ok" on reliability. They aren't gonna break down on you every 5 minutes, but they aren't as relaible as the Mazda 3, Civic, Corolla.

Also go used, you can save a few thousand dollars getting a used VW over a new one.

  3. i have an 07 Woflsburg Jetta, and the EPA rating is actually justa bout, or a little under what i get on MPG.

It is a very reliable car... IF you maintain it right.

Many people look over VW matience like they do a honda or toyota... NO. don't ever do that. one service skipped can lead to a whole series of problems.

The oil changes are 80 dollars, but they also come with tire rotations and such. its really a good deal. Plus, the wolfsburg comes with safety features and leatherette seats.

I love my jetta, but if i couldn't get the jetta i would've gotten:

    Honda Civic

    Mazda 3

    Nissan Sentra

    Good luck!
