Ok guys heres the thing, Im new to the ps3/360/Wii but since the Wii is a little more childish and does not have such good graphics compared to the ps3/360 I am thinking on going either 360 or ps3 but I am not sure. I used to be a miscrosoft fan ( halo geek) but then when the 360's started to have the overheating issues and RRoD ( Red Rings of Death) I am very disappointed. Now I am not sure if the newest 360's still have the RRoD problem. So my questions are:

* Is the 360 elite worth buying these days? Why

* Does the famous intercooler actually works?

* If I buy an xbox 360 what can i do to prevent the RRoD and the overheating?

And my last question

* Is it true that microsoft might stop producing 360's and making a new model? ( If this is true then why should I buy a 360 if in maybe a couple of time they will change it? Wouldnt it be a waste of money?)

****** Please xbox fans and expirienced gamers give me your personal and gamer opinion I really need it :S *********

  1. I have had the Elite since it's release and have never had the red ring of death or and over heating problems and the key is keeping it well ventilated and well dusted using air in a can to blow it out every so often and do not use the intercooler. I had more problems using this device than not using it I would get 3 rings of red while using it.

Here are the things to consider why to buy an elite over the other 360 and it's mainly the hard drive

The Elite has the 120g hard drive

    Pro the 20G hard Drive

    Arcade no hard drive

Now you must ask how would I fill this up if ever?

How much would it cost me to get a bigger hard drive later.

The 120 gig sells seperatly 179.99

    and the 20 gig 99.99

    179.99

    349.99 pro 20 gig

thats 529 total down the road as compared to the 449.99 for the Elite.

The 49.99 for xbox live for a whole year which is worth it.

If you are familar with Xbox live ability to download movie and tv shows then you would be surprised how fast it fills up. I have all the south parks and family guys and American dads as well as many other tv shows ands I have about 11 gigs left. There is a lot on there not to mention demo's and new game video's you can download.

If you are NOT going to be downloading movies and tv shopws then the Elite is not for you

If you like the HDMI option not to worry because the xbox 360 now has them on all units right under the component plug in on the back. We all know that HDMI supports 1080i and the component version can only do about 720i

Back to cooling just keep it in an open area out of the sun keep up with dusting and blowing it out. The thing now is the RRoD is getting more rare as Moicrosoft isolates the problem and you always want to go with extended protection plans wether it be the one in the box that microsoft offers or from the store I wouls recomend Best Buy or Circuit City as they deal with electronics more.

I have not heard anything on making a new model and even if they do it will probally be like a new console five years from now. just like there's the original Xbox vs the PS2

    Xbox 360 vs the playstation3

SO whatever console next vs the playstation 4

    Good luck with every thing.
