...if so, I'm out of here. This whole shift has been handled poorly, and with extreme arrogance on the part of Yahoo! Too bad. The old portal wasn't even remotely broken, why 'fix' it????

  1. It does appear to be gone for good. I don't know what moron (or focus group) made this decision, but I'm with you guys. I'll be finding another homepage.

  2. I hate it!! They've been trying to change me over for months and I just keep going back to the old My Yahoo!!  I'm not pleased at all!!!  I want my page back!!!

  3. Me, too - I'm out.  I've given them chance after chance after chance.  I have also been with Yahoo since the beginning, and wanted badly for them to make the right decision.  Current management is incapable of doing that.  Little things like forcing me to click through an extra page to log in started about 2 years ago - "Hey, we can double our clickthroughs if we force our longtime users to hit an extra button!"  So incredibly dumb.   I haven't heard a single person (out of many that I know who use MyYahoo) say anything positive at all about the new interface, much less that they prefer it.  Off to a new homepage - which is a much bigger loss for them than for me.

  4. Earlier today the" cm.my.yahoo.com\switch " worked -now it doesn't

the new yahoo sucks- how do we get the old yahoo back?

  5. I'm with you man.  I'm off to GMail.  I've been with Yahoo since the beginning.  Now they've just decided to rearrange MY desk.

I guess it's not MY Yahoo, it's THEIR Yahoo.

They get swallowed into Microsoft soon and this platform will suffer the same fate as Hotmail.  Irrelevance.

  6. If the inability of people like me to find a link to switch back to the old MyYahoo is any indication, the old interface is gone for good.

I don't have a problem with Yahoo switching to the new interface, but I do have a problem if it stinks as this one does (no articles showing for stocks I follow, no data being pulled from RSS feeds & blogs I follow, etc). If they don't let me switch back then I will be making my new home at iGoogle. Too bad, too, 'cause I was just starting to use Y! Search a bit more frequently & from within MyYahoo...

  7. It's like the death of an old friend. this really stinks!

  8. I feel the same.  If I can't get back to my Old MyYahoo, I will find another home page.

  9. It is pretty bad that they change the page without any communication that they were going to do this.

I would like the option to use the old page primarily since the new one seems to take two to three times as long to load.

    This whole thing just stinks.

    From Yahoo blog website....

    "Retiring the Original My Yahoo!

  10. yahoo is simply uncooperative. all you can do is hit them where they live; maybe they'll get the idea.

here is a place where you can get a hosts file replacement and painless installer which will prevent the download and appearance of yahoo (and many others') advertising:

please tell your friends, and help many newbies.

in the end, i honestly hope that yahoo comes to it's senses, but in lieu of that, i suppose that it should be more humane to hasten their consumption by microsoft. . .

  11. I'm with the rest of you.   It sucks.  And not even any notice.   What a moronic decision.

  12. Seems that the "old" interface is gone forever. In my case, when travelling was ideal because sometimes I use dial-up. The new one doesn't work the same in slow connections.  Perhaps has something do to with Yahoo! possible business-search alliance with Google and the refusal to be acquired by Microsoft.

You are right, we deserve at least an explanation why we are not allowed to use the old portal. I cannot switch to another email address because I have used it for over 10 years. I hope they have the deceny to allow us keeping using the old mail interface.

  13. I don't know, but if so, I am right behind you. Why is it that we have to feel like we are 'fighting' to keep the look we like. Make a new look available to those who want it, but my old look worked fine.

  14. ONCE AGAIN THE DO NOTHING IDIOTS AT YAHOO HAVE MESSED UP A GOODTHING. NOT ONLY DO THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT THE SPAMMERS/SCROLLERS IN YAHOO GAMES...THEY DO NOTHING TO MAKE THIER SEARCH PAGE ANY BETTER. I FOR 1 WILL BE MOVING TO ANOTHER HOMEPAGE ALONG WITH MANY OF MY FRIENDS. YAHOO NEEDS TO STOP ALLOWING IDIOTS IN THE HEAD OFFICES TO MAKE DECISIONS/CHANGES ON BEHALF OF THIER USERS. THIS CHANGE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AGREED TO BY ALL WHO USE YAHOO & NOT THOSE EMPLOYED BY THEM !
