Question:

Is the 'home address' on FM3 Retirement Visa application, my USA address or do I need a Cancun address?

I am planning to move in August or September 2008 and will not have a Cancun address until that time. I plan to ship some boxes to Cancun and obtain an auto permit, so I need a FM3 Retirement Visa to do this. I intend to stay with a friend, for about two weeks, when I arrive in August or September. Should I use the friends address or my home address on the application?

  1. You should use your address. What if they send u back something so if they send u back something at least u get it. Not your friend. Your friend is not the moving its you.

  2. You have 6 months when you arrive to file for your FM3 so you have time my friend.

Go ahead and google the city where your going and have the address and phone of immigration there.

Your fine on time so dont sweat it - just get settled in and then go visit them.

Do NOT lose your tourist visa that you will get on arrival - they will ask for it.

Make a copy of EVERY SINGLE PAGE o your passport - even blank ones.

You will also have to show proof of at least $1200 dollars a month income - FYI.

Other than that its a paperwork thing - I got mine in less than a month after I applied.

Good luck and your going to LOVE retiring in Mexico !
