  1. yes

  2. Lol, it's not that bad. What don't you like about it? The SANFL website is pretty basic! In answer to your actual question: No, I don't think the AFL website is the worst sporting website in the world.

  3. I don't know because I haven't looked at the other 2346521 other sports sites.

  4. no....the NRL website is full of NRL stuff!

  5. nah, i quite like it. what you dislike about it - other than it's just c**p?

  6. YES YES YES sorry for yelling. A complete waste of time .. which is kinda hilarious since it would have cost them so much money

  7. Yes.

  8. As a Web Developer - YES! Looks ok , but after 5 mins! Try espn.com for another bad one! Old school designing! This is ESPN we're talking about....!

  9. I find it OK, as someone else said look at the SANFL site that's cr@p.

  10. No way- it's awesome and I don't see why you don't like it.  It Has heaps of stuff on it so it takes a bit to load, but other than that it's heaps good; what more is there missing?

  11. It's good, but it takes too long to load for me.

  12. a little over a year ago I payed for a year fee's for international internet access via big pond to the AFL weekly games, and archives.  I was unable to watch a single game, due to transfer rates etc, and a myriad of other problems.

After becoming frustrated I did not access my account for two months, and when I did, I was informed the account had expired, to contact the AFl. cleverly the AFL site has no contact number, and contact re accounts requires a valid current account. Ok i thought, money down the drain, but wait, there was more to follow. As my membership  expiry date neared i was bombarded with emails from The AFL urging me not to miss a single game, to renew my account now! I wrote an ugly email in response to one of these soliciting letters. The reply informed me that Big Pong could not be held responsible for internet speed problems(I was in Germany at the time with great down load speed).

I paid to watch AFL games vi the net, what I got was spam.

  13. It is poor because it is so slow. Only reason I go to it anymore is to listen to games on the radio.

Andrew decided that television is not important for footy in America.

  14. I don't know.

I googled "sporting webpages" & 2,840,000 references came up. I've been going through them & comparing them with the AFL page - but I don't think I will finish tonight.

  15. i never seen  it yet?

  16. no, its one of the best.

  17. In Fact, It Isnt... The Worst Site In The World Is The "American Hockey Womens"..... Afl Site May Take Long But Has All Of The Afl Stats, Players And Heaps More... It Has 16 Teams Of All That Stuff!!!

  18. I Guess Soo??

  19. Yes it is. Especially for those who don't like using lousy internet explorer.  It doesnt support mozilla or safari....it's an apalling website!

  20. Can't say, as I haven't checked all the sports web sites in the world, but it borders on unusable from the UK.  I'd love to follow the sport using their own web site, but it's big, hard to navigate, slow to load, freezes the latest FireFox (because it's so slow) and is generally pointless.

Oh, and you can't watch any of the videos because they're for BigPond users only, and you can't have BigPond if you're not in Australia.  No wonder the sport is barely known outside of Australia, when its own organisation is so short-sighted.

  21. personally i don't have the time, patience or pettyness to see all sporting websites in the world aside from that it is reasonably easy to use and isn't as confusing as alot of other sites out there, and the information on it is usually factual and not all speculation

  22. I hope the AFL takes note of this...and Telstra as well

If its this slow for people in the city then I can only imagine what its like for the country folks

    .

  23. no way its so good. it has heaps of information, it does take a while to load but it covers all the stories. It has links to all the other footy websites aswell.

  24. Its worst than the worst website!!!!

i could go to ticketmaster online, select a group of seats for me and friends, buy online, go into my local ticcketmaster agency or wait for the daily mail next day, go to work, get dressed in my favourite team colours, miss two trains, catch the train to SCross station, get back on to the train 'cos the game is at tthe MCG, get off at Jolimont, peruse the team merchandise stands, go in get in line to buy a midstrenght beer........find my seat, wait for the pregame entertainment to finish, watch my team go through the banner, see them bounce the ball.........and see them kick their first goal.........in the time that the AFL website is trying to load.

  25. nah probably not the worst but it's not that great either.

I mean it's actually hard to find a list of who won the premiership in each year (1897-present) and pretty hard to find the national drafts for each season. Wikipedia does a better job for these things.

But it's good in terms of Match Day Stats ('Game Day Live') and with the ladder, stats and (obviously) articles and other media.

  26. no

  27. It may be Ok if you happen to have mega quick internet but for the normal user it is sooooooo slooooow that most of the time I get sick of waiting for it.

Maybe if they tried cutting some of the BigPond C&&P out of it we might be able to get it to load up.

I generally use sites like Herald Sun and Fox sports to get my footy news.

  28. its pretty good, but it takes long to load.
