Is the Amex Platinum charge card hard to get?

What are the requirements for getting approved for this card? FICO score, income requirements, etc.

Is it a good card to have?

You should ask Amex their requirements.  For Amex AND Platinum, I'd guess you'd need excellent credit.  I took a quick look at their website and, even though it took a bit of hunting around, I did find that the annual fee for this card is $450!  There's no way I'd pay that.  I don't need those services that come with that card.  Perhaps you do.

In my opinion, Amex is not a good card to have because it is not as universally accepted as Mastercard or Visa.
