  1. The casing will take up two ports on the back of your pc. On your mobo it wil utitilize only one PCIe  slot, you don't need two slots.

    There are mods you can make to the card so it will take up one port on the back of your pc. eg: water cooling. Look on newegg to have a look at them. You might want to look at youtube under gtx 280. There are interesting videos on the subject.

    PCIe 2.0 is another topic you might want to look up at Wikipedia, there is plenty of info on the topic.


  2. It's not supposed to fill to slots, it is supposed  to only use 1, and it does. It just covers two slots since it is a double thick card. The double thickness allows for a better cooler to be installed, which is necessary since your GPU is the overclocked edition.
