Is the BS in IT/Software Engineering from University of Phoenix any good?

Just wondering if anyone knows if this degree means anything for being hired by tech companies.

  2. Some companies look down upon online degrees, however UoP and other online schools have risen in stature in the past few years. That university is also regionally accredited, so they do pass certain quality standards as dictated by the US Department of Education.

    In addition to the BS degree, make sure you get as many certifications under your belt as possible. Microsoft has several, Apple has a few, Adobe has some, and if I recall correctly, there is also Cisco and a few others. IT companies care more about what you know and can do than about where you got your degree.

    Of course, the career services office at UoP could probably give you some information, and maybe even connect you to a grad who can give you more details on their personal experience and insider viewpoint.
