Is the Beijing Pollution very serious ??

I don't think so.... From the TV screen, the air condition in Beijing is fine

You recall for the Sydney 2000 Olympic games the area used is called Homebush Bay.   It was once a very polluted place.  

Well another place just across the bay was so badly polluted after the factory was closed it sat for years and not even a tree could be planted as they did not know what was in the ground.  Eventually a soil-cleaning program was put in place.  

The polluting industries were closed down and the area cleaned up.  In fact today it is so clean that Whales have returned to Sydney harbour.  

Well that’s was all very nice warm in the tummy stuff for us in Sydney Australia but what we forgot was that these bad industry business did not so much close as they just moved.      

India, China and I think Brazil also got some of the worlds bad polluters.  

These countries are great place to run a businesses the governments don’t worry about such silly things as a clean environment.  Just pump it into a river or in the air.  

Its serous alright and despite the distance it will cause all of us problems because no one is making them accountable for what they do.

no. one of the olympians pulled out of the marathon, because he thought that there would be too much pollution. in the end, he regretted pulling out, cus there was none.

You can compare a TV screen to what you will see in the air when you're in Beijing. The air IS contaminated with smog.

The air pollution in Beijing is worse than here in Southern California.

the pollution is very serious, afew weeks before the games it was terrible but they were working to clear it up and reduce it while the games were actually taking place, it is definately not fine, in the marathon you could see from the helicopter view that everything became smokey and it wasnt from the clouds.

if you go over to beijing in afew months when the games are done and dusted im sure they would have returned to their old ways and wont care about reducing it anymore. they also have these gun things which they were shooting into the sky before the games in order to make it rain, the more rain the clearer the air.

when i watched the summer games it didnt look that bad.

well, it rained for a few days so things cleared up a bit but normally beijing is very smoggy and I could tell when i was watching it
