This is according SI.Com. I don't agree. They have the PAC 10, Big east and ACC ahead of the Big 12.

  1. Top to bottom, I would say that they are easily the 2nd best conference in America in football. SEC and Big 12 very close behind. Then Pac 10 and Big East/ACC tie. Big 10 has lost a lot of strength overall from their glory days.

  2. Phil Steele (college football God) has the Big XII as the 2nd best conference behind the SEC and you'd have to be a moron not to agree.  11 of 12 returning starters at QB with the best combined offense in the entire NCAA last year... SI is trash.

  3. yeah... i think that the big 12 would at least be third...if not second....

  4. Well, I"m a kansas fan and as much as i hate the fact that the BCS writers just adore the SEC...there is no way around the fact. The SEC is the best conference is college football. I would have to agree with Kirk Herbstriet though that the Big 12 is the second best. Think about it...Kansas, MIssouri, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas Tech are all ranked in the top 25. Not to mention...can you think of any team that is easy to beat on the road in the big 12 aside from iowa state??? I have to believe that the big 12 is the second best conference in NCAA football

  5. the big 12 is clearly number one or two but i would put them at number behind the sec. they are clearly better than the pac 10 and big ten and theres a large gap between the top 2 conference and the rest of them. though i do not think a big 12 team has a top 5 team, even though oklahoma is number 4 or 5 i think, my top 5 are still georgia florida ohio state usc and auburn

  6. Chris Landry of Fox Sports Radio went this way.

    1. SEC

    2. Big 12

    3. Pac 10

    4. Big 10

    5. Big East

Most Sports Illustrated clowns don't know their a** from a hole in the ground, so the credibility of their writing is suspect.

  7. 2nd best.

  8. no they should be at least second they have some tough competition but not as tough as the SEC

  9. I'd put the Big 12 ahead of the ACC and the Big 10. The Big 10 drops off after Ohio St and Michigan, and the Big 12 has the most teams of any conference in the top 25
