Is the Big 12 the best confrence in College Football?

I mean they have 5 teams in the top 14. They have 4 national title contenders in Texas, OU, Mizzou, and Tech. Is it better than the SEC?

No.  Texas, OU, Mizzou and Tech are very solid, but I dont think title contenders as the season progresses. I think the SEC is a better conference.

Top to bottom I think the SEC is the strongest conference. If you take the top five teams in the SEC and the Big XII, I think they match up really well.

The Pac 10 -- one strong team, USC, and a couple of very good teams.

Big 10 -- same as the Pac 10.

It's way to early to tell. Tech isn't a NC contender, don't let anyone fool you. I think that it will be between the SEC and the big 12 this year, we will have to see how the season plays out.

well the SEC has 3 teams in the top 6 and 4 in the top 11 and tech is not in any way a title contender. the SEC has 4 legitamite title contenders in UGA,UF,LSU,and AU. both are very strong conferences definately the best two in the country but top to bottom top conference honors still belong to the SEC

Yes they are because The schools and Coaches are more Passionate and Serious then anyone other Conference schools.

I agree with the answer that says that Texas Tech is NOT for real. I think they're going to get a nasty slap of reality when they start playing some of the other tough teams in the big 12.

That said, Big 12 is my second best conference in football, based on current pre season rankings, recent successes, and tradition. The SEC, however, tops them in 2/3 of those and if you look beyond the top 14 (haha, cut off right where the last big 12 team appears, eh?) you find 5 SEC teams.

The SEC has a firm lead over any other conference. The Big 12 is probably the second best conference. Right now the SEC is the best and will be in the future. The Smack 10 and Big 10 are only after thoughts.

NO! They are good, but the Pac-10 and SEC are still the dominant conferences. OU and Mizzou are the only teams that have a chance of taking out a Florida or USC

I think it is the 2nd best in College Football, behind the SEC. The Big 12 IS the leader of offense, with Dynamic players like Crabtree, Bradford, McCoy, Daniel, Harrel, among others.

Big 12 is best in offense, but SEC is overall faster and somewhat weirder. Big 12 is as good as the SEC, however, and one of these days the Big 12 may be dominant.

No, based on the last 2 years, you have to give it to the last 2 National Champions (both SEC schools). We'll have to see if KU, Mizzu, and Tech can actually put 2 years in a row of winning together. . . We're really going to have the year play out, but until then, the SEC is still the best.
