The robber baron as Lord Bountiful.

Bill Gates and the capitalist philanthropy scam.

Do You know anybody personally who has received any help from his foundation (I know he is not helping individuals, but why not?)

  1. Just because you do not know anyone personally who is being helped, this is not near enough evidence to say that no one is being helped. Secondly, I am sure that if he was in fact finding a way to bypass taxes and have the money funnel back to himself, either a individual person or the IRS would fiqure it out. Thirdly, why do you think that he has to help anyone, he earned his own fortune, and in the process created thousands of jobs, and allowed huge amounts of people to own computers. He has no obligation to help any one unless he chooses to do so.

  2. Mr. Gates is trying to devise funding strategies that maximize the return on the limited assets of the foundation. Giving money to lots of individuals is not likely to do that.

  3. Considering now that he's retired from Microsoft and devotes all his time to his foundation, and the fact that over 90% (hardly any for his kids, relatively of course) of his money goes to charity upon his death, I doubt very serious he has anything but good intentions.
