  1. Yes, the 777-200(LR) is currently in service with Air Canada, Air India, Delta, Emirates, and PIA Pakistan International Airlines.

However, the 777-200(LR) does not really have the range to fly Los Angeles-Johannesburg nonstop.  The Great Circle distance of this route is 9,024 nm, but the maximum range stated in the database on Airliners.Net is 8,865 nm.  Boeing's website shows a range chart from Los Angeles that would put Johannesburg barely within its range, but this is eastbound and based on the aircraft having three auxiliary fuel tanks.  The plane would surely have some weight penalties in order to make that flight too.  The aircraft would not have the legs to fly Johannesburg-Los Angeles as westbound flights are typically longer due to the winds aloft.

  2. if you wanted to ask a question that was random about the B777, meet my fists. you should of asked: "is the Boeing 777-300ER in airlines yet"

  3. The only airline that would fly that route would be South African Airways.  I am sure they would carefully evaluate if that route would be profitable/have enough passenger demand before introducing it.

Some airlines are already flying the 777-200LR.  Delta uses it I think for their New York to New Delphi route.
