Prior to 200 years ago (according to most written history) India was a land of wealth and intrigue. A true paradise known to all as a magical stop along the silk route to China. What happened?

  2. and pakistan (though the presidents didnt help much)

  3. Duh!

  4. Destruction of trade in India and further a policy of trade dominance taken up by The U.S.A. and perhaps China. Consumer Culture.

Consumadors as opposed to Conquistadors.  More of the same.

Also India took up Free Trade Policies with  no tarrifs in place to protect goods and make money off others coming in.  Of course it never was a paradise it had it's share of poverty and inequality but things were made worse by the new policies.

  5. yes that's also a reason, india's poverty is mainly because of our own selfishness

  6. Funny , they have all the customer service and lower level computer engineering jobs now. India has over twice the population of the United States.
