Is the British "honours system" a nonsense? These "honours" are routinely awarded to foreign "dignitaries" (Mugabe is a good case in point), to pop musicians and "celebrities", and to politicians and sycophants.

Time to consign all that claptrap to the history books?

  1. I think we've got to take a look at the whole British system.

    I have a problem with an unelected prime minister. There should be a law that if a Prime Minister leaves office for whatever reason there should be a general election within 12 months of his departure.


  2. I agree. It is a total anachronism in this day and age and should be abolished forthwith.

    Resources should not go into further boosting up already-inflated egos. Resources should be going into reducing the gap between rich and poor.
