Is the Brunswick Contender Allenton a decent pool table?

Question

I know this table is not top of the line, But is it worth $1550

I am looking to spend 1500-1700$ on a table, Is the 1'' slate worth the extra $160 (3/4'' is the other option). The Brunswick Stain-Resistant Cloth is also a $250 option, Is it worth it? Any and all info would be very helpfull to me, Im new at this.

what makes a table top of the line? i can see as if it's one of those walmart tables with a wooden top...but the table you're getting is made from Brunswick..it has a slate top, is rather stylish, if i must say...and if you purchased it from the correct store, they'll set it up free for you  :) :)...I just purchased one from the local pool & spa store **mine is a Brunswick Contender Geneva** full price..and to me, it's worth every penny..about the stain resistant cloth, it's worth it only if you have lil' ones around the house that'll spill something on it..or if there's a clumsy adult around, lol...here's the site where u can see your table at...according to the site, the 1" slate comes with the table as a standard option :) :).....Dre O

Yes buy the whole package it is a very good deal

I would insist on the slate & cloth if I had a choice

Well, as I'm sure you know the Contender line is not Brunswick's best table, but they should be good for the price. You probably will not notice a difference between 3/4" and 1" slate, but I would still go ahead and get it if I were you. If you want it to play like a professional table, you should upgrade the cloth to Simonis 860, not Brunswick stain resistant. If you take care of your table, and don't do stupid stuff like use it to hold drinks, you should not have a problem with staining the cloth.
