Question:

Is the Canon - DVD Camcorder any good?

Alright, so I am looking into purchasing a camcorder that's not too expensive and works well. The last one I had was pretty pricey and wasn't so durable. The Canon looks like a good enough camcorder, but then again, I don't know how to judge by features or anything.

It says it records onto Mini DVD discs as well as Mini SD cards, so if I wanted to put my recordings on my computer what would I have to do?

And does it come with a USB cable that can allow me to actually transfer files or would I have to buy one? Cos I'm pretty sure if it came with something like that it'd be listed in the features, but you never know.

Thank you.

  1. There is no such thing as a good DVD based consumer camcorder. They use the highest amount of digital video compression applied to the digital video stream. This results in poorest available video quality when compared to other storage media.

Next best video comes from Hard Disk Drive (HDD) and flash memory camcorders (not still cameras that happen to take REALLY compressed video).

Best video quality continues to come from miniDV tape based camcorders - which is one of the main reasons why the professionals continue to use that format...

  2. ok i think the camera should be  ok. i have a samsung one and its real good. If u bye mini dvd u cant put the vid on the computer. If u get the card u can put it into movie maker and alot more other stuff. It should come with a usb cable so u can plug it to the computer or else it would be pointless to be able to hold the card. Call the site or store ur getting it from and they should be able to help u out more. Hope i helped!!!                                                                                            PS pick me as best answer.
