Is the Canon EOS 40D a good camera for me?

i am entering my fifth and final year of school as a photography major. i basically only have my two thesis left and need to purchase a camera that will give me quality prints to add to my portfolio. the camera i buy will be the one i use in the beginning of my career. This camera seems to have all the qualities 10.10 megapixels, good size descent battery and most importantly the price is right. Is this camera too good to be true? what are your suggestions?

What camera do you have right now? The 40D is a good camera... but if you already have the XT or XTi then maybe you should step up to the 5D instead.

Buy the camera, body only. Get a lens better than what they offer as a kit lens. The one you purchase will be the one you need to suit what type of photography you will be doing professionally.
