Is the Canon PowerShot S5 IS a good camera?

any cannon is a good camera

no matter what the more $ u spend the better the camera

Yes, absolutely!

In fact, I have the S3is (earlier version) which is virtually identical except the S5 has more MP and a hot shoe.

I recommend this as the single best point & shoot out there.

You can't beat it for price, quality and features.

i bought this camera a couple of weeks ago and i love it.  i was going to get the canon rebel but this camera was a lot cheaper.  other pros are that it takes video and the screen turns so you can take pictures of yourself!  i defintely recommend it.
