Is the Canon PowerShot SD1000 7.1MP Digital Camera an underwater camera?

My birthday is in 2 days and I want this camera but I was just wondering if it's an underwater camera because I'm 13 and I don't really understand the tech spechs.

The out of the box camera is NOT an underwater camera, but you can buy a special waterproof casing for it.

That is not an underwater camera. Most digital cameras are not.
