for the production value, yes it was the best. But for viewership, NBC does not even compare with ABC. When Jim McKay was the lead sportscaster and there was only three networks they were showing much more variety with one channel than NBC with there 7.

Oh, rich. I think there is no point of asking this kinda question. Because almost everyone is sort of patriotic and we all have a biased point of view. And it depends on your perception of a culture though. As me myself is a Chinese, i would say it is the best ever. :P

No. Munich. Olga Korbut and Mark Spitz. And they covered more sports, like whitewater kayaking. I don't even think they have that sport anymore. All NBC cared about was commercials. I didn't see one Judo or wrestling match. You're lucky to see sports like the table tennis final or trampoline final for 10 minutes. They should do that with most every sport.
