Is the Civic holiday in August a statutory holiday in Ontario?

This coming monday august 4, 2008 is a Civic holiday and I was just wondring if is was a stat holiday too?

  1. No, not in Ontario.  It is in BC and Alberta, perhaps others, and it is often given in Ontario, but is not legally required.  Check the link.
