Question:

Is the Cubs' Japanese Import a Lemon?

Kosuke Fukudome and his Rapidly Shrinking Batting Average could hurt the Cubs in the stretch drive. Not only is he hitting a meager .212 (with a .309 OBP and .302 SLG) on the road, his overall average has declined each month since April. Do the Cubs need to acquire a money player (Matt Holliday, perhaps?) before the deadline to replace Fukudome or will he regain his stroke in time to help the Cubs win their first World Series in 100 years?

  1. He will regain his stroke

    He's a pretty solid play

He's just going through a rough spot in the road right now

  2. i think he'll regain his stroke, but i think part of the problem is that he set a very high bar for himself early...he is still a rookie, and the game over here is extremely different from the game in japan, so i think it should have been expected that he would hit some sort of wall at some point

  3. I thought Cubs fan gave him TOO much of a warm welcome, he has declined since June

  4. Fukudome is soooooo overrated, he should never have made the All-Star team, he sucks soooooo bad.

  5. Cubs won't even make it to the NLCS.This year or next. This decade or next decade.

  6. well, first of all, the cubs really don't have an option because they signed him to a huge deal already. and you really think the cubs can afford someone like matt holliday. come on now. look at the payroll already. second, fukudome is the least of the cubs worries right now. they need to get everyone else hitting a scoring runs first. he'll come around just like the rest of the cubs. and for the person who said the cubs wouldnt make the nlcs this year or the next decade, ur probly a white sox fan and thats the only thing u fans know how to do is bash the cubs cause you're jealous and live in the past. just cause you won the world series like 5 years ago doesnt make u awesome this year. GET OVER IT ALREADY!!!!

  7. Hopefully he'll come around because he is slumping and so is Lee and Ramirez. These guys need to step it up to fend off the Cardinals but they are choking
