  1. I think the Cubs have a better team, but I think the Brewers will give them a run for their money. I think that the Cards pitching will be what keeps them out of winning the Wildcard.

  2. I wouldn't say eminent just because of their past collapses. But if they don't start playing to their capabilities, it's going to be a long next two months and they WILL be watching the playoffs and not participating. I think the Cubs and Brewers are pretty evenly matched. Not knocking the Cardinals either, they always find ways to win. It's going to be an interesting race in August and September.

Edit: I agree with you about the pitching. The thing that scares me about the Cardinals though is that even if they're having pitching troubles, the offense always seems to get that clutch hit which is an area where the Cubs and Brewers will struggle with at times. I do think the Cubs and Brewers are going to match up in the NLCS though, I think they're the two deepest teams in the NL.

  3. It will be a GREAT finish. If the Cardinals make a move, it will be an AMAZING finish.

I think the Cubs have the most talent. Deepest team. They have been bad recently compared to their amazing stretch. Zambrano and Harden vs. Sheets and CC will be classical.

  4. It eminent The Brewers are coming on strong but the Cardinals are showing their weaknesses too The Cubs will be fine If they just keep on Winning and Let The Brewers try to the National League Central it will only put Milwaukee as the National League Wild Card because the Cubs do have a Good Enough to get in the Playoffs.

  5. 19 out of 25  next games are in the friendly confines of wrigley/ lets play 2 today says ernie!

    no cave in this year!

  6. the cubs won't collapse...i don't think they'll win the post season, especially the world series...

as for the brewers...they'll stay close...the cardinals, i think, have gone as far as they will go and will fade, maybe badly...i think larussa gets more out of a team than anyone, but this year isn't going to be good in the end for them

  7. The collapse is eminent. There is so much pressure put on them by the media and fans in Chicago they won't be able to handle it all year. It's already starting.

Plus if Wood is out for an extended time they are screwed.

  8. if you think about it they kinda already collapsed. going into the all star break they were 5 games up on the brewers. now if the brewers win tonite they will be tied with the cubs for first place

  9. Division champ for one, wild card for the other.  I would love for the Cubs to beat the Brewers in the NLCS to advance to the WS.  Better name?  Brewers.  Better team? Cubs.

  10. hey man the brewers have been hot as of late, but i still firmly believe the cubs have a better team than they do (and the cards of course). plus the cubs always have the wild card to lean on since the wild card is most likely gonna come from the NL central.
