In the past all Africans honoured the rhino. It was protected from hunting by the belief that killing one would result in a curse on the killers that would extend to their wives, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Today both the white and the black rhino has been hunted mainly by African poachers, for their horns, to the brink of extinction. Poverty, Aids, other diseases and war, corruption and human attrocities are rife in Africa. Could it be the curse of the Rhino?
