Is the Daily Mail the worst paper written in the world??

Question

It seems to believe it is not a red top, but then writes some of the most ridiculous headlines I have ever seen.

Its sensationalist, racist, homophobic and obsessed with Diana.

It educates people in totally the wrong way and I think increase the xenophobia that exists in this country.

If you want to read a trashy paper, at least read one that you know you probably can't believe. I'm talking the mirror or the news of the world. They know their technically magazines.

I would hasten to say the Scum is still worse but only marginally!

There are far worse papers out there than the Daily Mail.

You must be reading it to be able to know so much about it.  If you don't like the paper then don't read it....nuff said!

Reading the headlines is still reading it, and how do YOU know that they have their "facts" wrong about immigration and crime, and YOU are being sensationalist saying that they have!

Well Spotted! I've been campaigning against the Daily Mail for years. I hate it; as you say racist, homphobic and obsessed the boring Diana issue. And some their anti-immigration rubbish is pathetic.

Its written for right-wing pensioners, BNP members and Alan Partridge.

Edit:  I'm quite capapble of reding a story and deciding if ti is sensationalist or not, thank you.  I don't need you to tell me what to read.  I remember reding the story you mentioned through - perhaps that is the secret?  Don't just read the headlines?

I read a variety of newspapers and look at news websites to try and get a range of opinions.  I can see how the Mail influences its readers.

It is a very biased paper and should just admit what it really is and stop being all high and mighty.  At least the Sun knows what it is.

It is a horrible newspaper and aims to make people so terrified of life that they vote for right wing creeps in order to protect them.

I'd love to say it was the worst paper in the world, but it's probably not even the worst paper in Britain.  The Sun and The Star are barely literate and encourage their readers to distrust intelligence.  Now that is horrible.

I totally agree with you. In my opinion The Mail is the vilest most bigoted tawdry little tabloid in the country. It is read by 'little englanders' who are stuck in some previous evolutionary stage, both mentally and psychologically. The Sun and the Mirror at least don't take themselves too  seriously and aren't filled with the sort of hateful bile that Mail readers seem to need to feed their constant sense of being miserable, resentful, xenophobic, homophobic and Luddite.
