Is the Dark Knight getting so much attention because it was Heath's last film?

The Dark Knight is making such waves in the box office as well as critic circles...

Do you think the scenario would have been the same if it was not Heath's last film?

What do you think would be different? The Box office reception or the Critics? Or would everything be the same.

What is your opinion?

I am sure that the Dark Knight is getting a little extra attention because it was Heath's last film, but I also think that it is getting all the credit that it deserves. the Dark Knight was by far the greatest Batman movie of all-time. In fact, it is the greatest comic book to movie ever.

I thinks its getting so much attention because of Heaths incredible performance. Alive or dead, it was mesmerizing...

I think that is a big reason. There often seems to be some subconscious thing about men who die young being martyrs or some such "kuso". I saw the film and was disappointed. It was tedious and one of the worst "Batman" films I have seen. Critics are not so bright, so I never heed them. Some people allow them to think for them however.

Even if he was still alive, people would still love the movie cos his performance would still have been brilliant. and the other actors were all great too

Maybe, But that movie is the best movie I've ever seen in my entire life.

I do think that it did as well as it did because of the unfortunate death of Heath, I mean Batman Begins did not bring in as much money. I have never heard of a sequel bringing in more money than a prequel.

However, it wasn't his last movie, he filmed almost half of The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. So it will be interesting to see how well that movie does when it is released.

yeah that makes me wonder too, why does it get so good in the box office? and also christian bale, a great actor, is the main character so of course are going to want to see. yes i agree with you in that it got extra popular of being heath's last movie.

Well i think that it was a good movie i mean yea Heath Ledger may have died and that was his last film but i don't think that's the only reason why its getting so much attention i mean Batman Begins was a very good movie and alot of people prob. wanted to see the sequel of it and it was a AWESOME movie with alot of action and Heath as the joker did an outstanding job!!

So i think its because people thought the first batman was good and wanted to see the sequel and because it was Heath Ledgers last film 2 so it could kinda go either way really for diffrent people
