  1. nope i dont think so

  2. The earth is slightly spherical because of the rotation of the earth on it's axis.  Think about a pizza maker making a pizza crust - he (or she) spins a ball of dough quickly and it becomes a flat spinning disc.  Only the earth isn't nearly as 'doughy' and only slightly bulges out.

The earth rotates at approximately 1000 miles an hour at the equator, and decreases as you get near the poles.

  3. Its an oblate spheroid. It bulges at the equator as a result of spinning, especially during the initial formation.

  4. sphere, not perfectly round, gravitational pulls and gyroscopic forces.

  5. who gives a flying pig?! XD
