Is the East Coast Area a good place to live if working in the city?

Just moved to singapore and looking at areas to stay. We like the east coast but will be working in the city. Is there good transport to and from the city? Whats the night life like at the east coast? What are the advantages and disadvantages??

the East Coast Area is a nice place to live in, and the price of property there is quite costly than the west area of Singapore, anyway, you can try search on 88db for private property or HDB house for sale, for transport, if you don't mind you can always take the MRT, but it can be quite congested with people in the morning, for night life, it will be more happening in the town area like Orchard Rd or Clark Quay.....hope this helps
