  1. We have a huge population and we are basically useless at sport. Cricket, football etc and we just do not seem to compete well against opther countries. The only games we seem relatively good at are darts and snooker and these are played by people who spend much of their time in pubs or other inside establishments. It was a disaster yesterday against New Zealand and it is noticeable that if you appoint a replacement captain they usually fail.

  2. They seem to choke when it comes to a big game, in fact, their greatest win was the ashes 2005...  such a shame coz bowlers like Sidebottom, Broad, Anderson are the rising star but they should be supported with their batsmen...  sometimes luck also got to do with it but we can't say it all the time... have to work hard for it too.

  3. I believe the game of cricket concerns the team of the day.  Kevin Pietersen was born in SA, he chose to leave like a lot of us did.  He is a very good batsman but no sportsman is his/her best every day of their sporting career!  The Kiwi bowlers were best on the day - give credit where its due. Just bear with KP - he is more British today than yesterday, he is human and he can be a pain - but he did not loose the match for England - there were 11 players involved.

  4. its the batting. Englands batting is deteriorating or the New Zealand bowlers are brilliant

either way England need to work on theyre batting , they have great upcoming bowlers and now they need great upcoming batsmen to back the bowlers.

its embarrassing when the bowlers do well and we think - yeah we got this match in our pockets and then the New Zealand bowlers come and rip through the batting and were like - did we really think we could win?

Hopefully England can turn it around before the first test against South Africa

  5. England increasingly use foreign immigrants in the national side or individuals like Kevin Peterson who for some reason chose to opt in being British rather than whatever other nationality they hail from- in this case South Africa.

I believe that this does not make the English side truly English but then the dismal performance of England in all the major sports is so bad, I would imagine that it would not be sad a bad ( albeit) desparate idea to rely on foreigners and pass them off as English in an attempt to salvage some pride.

I do reliase though that the use of foreign players in the national side is not working out. Whilst they do outshine the genuinely English players, the overall team performances are still poor.

I note that you make special reference to the last one day international between England and New Zealand. Kevin Petersen did fail but what is on note that the only players who did well for England with the bat had foreign roots ( Bopara and Shah), and I must say that I believe that any chance England had of winning would have meant that KP had to come to the party with the bat too. There was not real expectaion from anyone that one of the English lads would.
