  1. It's related, in that it's a bread with baking soda and baking powder instead of yeast, but that's about all.  It's not like a bunch of Micks went to the Baltic coast and taught them how to make c**p food.

    These suit my sweet tooth nicely. I did not find an Estonian version, too bad I like new breads & foods. I suppose other than the mode of leavening the Kinngle bread is sweet and the soda bread is not or it may be savory.

In the recipes I've seen, the kringle bread uses yeast to leaven, while soda bread uses...baking soda, hence the name.  But I'm guessing that what strikes you as similar is that they both are rather plain, somewhat heavy breads with a bit of dried fruit.  I'm not an expert on either one though - you might want to try the King Arthur Flour site's "Baker's Circle" to see if someone can help you further.
