Is the European Tour better than the US PGA Tour?

Maybe an impossible question, but it kind of seems that way to me, at least.

Well, plenty of people have made the point that with Tiger missing, the PGA Tour is suffering. You might also say that Phil Mickelson and Steve Stricker, the two biggest names on the Tour, don't have the pulling power - but is the European tour really that much more glamourous? Lee Westwood's a great player but the plainspoken Nottingham lad isn't exactly a riddle wrapped in an enigma is he? The European tour has Rory McIlroy, who's exciting by virtue of his youth, but McIlroy will play on the PGA later this year too. Mind you, I don't know if the PGA has anyone to compare to Miguel Angel Jimenez, who watched the end of yesterday's final round puffing away on a fat stogie. The guy's a character, alright.
