  1. Probably is if you can afford it with dinner and wine costing around 400 USD per person plus gratuity.Bon appetit.

  2. It is reputed to not only be one of the best in the UK but one of the best in the world. I have not eaten there but I am planning to go this year.

As to is it the best. It depends on what you like. If you want 3 Star then your choice is limited to the Fat Duck, Gordon Ramsey at Claridges and the Waterside Inn (Michel Roux).

Interestingly both the Fat Duck and Waterside Inn are in a small village called Bray near Maidenhead outside London.

Personally I like Ramseys food but I can also recommend 15 (Jamie Oliver), The Seafood Restraunt, Padstow (Rick Stein) and Lindsey House (Richard Corrigan).

  3. What is the best restaurant in the UK?

Surely this is only someones opinion, personally I've never heard of the 'Fat Duck', so for me ....no it's not.

It is OK to listen to peoples opinions but you must try eating places out for yourself. What one person likes could be distasteful to another.

  4. Nope

  5. The Fat Duck isn't the best restaurant in the UK, IT one of the best in the world. 7 years ago it was voted the best restaurant in the world and the head chef, the mighty Heston Bluementhal, has three Michelin stars and even starred in his own tv programme, in search of perfection. So if you ever go it will cost you a fair bit of money.

  6. I don't know.  I looked up the website though and it sounds very nice.

  7. Where is it ?  ?

  8. SORRY, but as I have only ever come across a "fat duck" greasy spoon type cafe then I would have to disagree

  9. You have to ask yourself what is the best? Its not just the food that makes it the best restaurant in the UK. Its also the presentation of the food, the ambience of the restaurant among other things.

Never been to the fat duck, may go in the future, but for the time being I am happy to stick to places that I can afford!
