  1. I guess Shuggie just about covered that one.

  2. Yes it is the first motorbike that FIAT have built and also the first turbo-deisel GP bike to come to the grid.

It evidently has incredible torque and revs way beyond the 5000 limit that the engineers originally planned for it, some say by as much as an extra 200 revs per minute !

There are rumours of two wheel drive technology being applied by courtesy of fellow FIAT group company, Lancia, who have, by all accounts, donated one of their magnificent Integrale Gp.B cars as a donor vehicle for the system.

I have heard that Vale Rossi has been testing the beast around the Claudio Cuculando circuit in the Swiss Alps, not far from the Italian border town of Gullibillio Tuatto and setting some incredible times, albeit with some tyre worries, so I have been told.

The road bike based upon this magnificent racer will be badged as a Yamaha FIAT Abarth and offered only in red with the famous scorpion badge to figure prominently on it`s fairing.

  3. You are having a joke here I assume?

The Camel Yamaha of a couple of years ago wasn't powered by a smoke driven turbine,  the Konica Minolta Honda not driven by a motor from a photocopier, the Telefonica bikes don't have ring tones for exhaust notes :-)

FIAT sponsor the team and trust me Yamaha have a much better pedigree of building performance motorcycle engines than FIAT do. There may be an outside option that some access could be given to the Ferrari (owned by FIAT) engineers but they also have never built a bike engine, so I suspect that there is little that they could pass on which Yamaha do not already know. I imagine however that even that would not happen. If you stop to think about it why would FIAT do it? There is no commercial gain as they do not sell motorcycles, so powering and race bike would be of no value to them anyway.

Yamaha have the most talented and famous motorcycle rider on the planet as part of their team - Valentino Rossi. He is Italian as are FIAT and they would have jumped at the chance to associate themselves with the most televised bike out there. It is no more than a commercial relationship. FIAT, through Ferrari, also have a close connection with Ducati where very often they will launch their competition machines together or so I am led to believe. I have absolutely no interest in Formula One so don't pay attention to what Ferrari do.

  4. That is Correct my god Sir.

" Shuggie" is bang on in his first answer.

The new Yamaha MotoGP 2008 engine is driven by a 950cc 2 stroke diesel engine from the new " Fiat 500".

The car engine was that amazing that all the [big guys] took it on board.

As of 2008 /9 all MotoGP bikes will run 950cc  in line fours with 38 BHP and 12 LB of Touque.

As Ive said before, roll on 2008 !!
