Is the French government changing it's ways finally on immigration?

I am very surprised at this. I thought France was always too lenient and Liberal.

The French people, like Americans are fed up with an influx of people into its country who are a drain on its social services.

In the case of France its mostly Muslim immigration, people who usually wind up hating France.
