This guy lifted 569 lbs very comfortably even though a hungarian weightlifter Janos suffered twisted and cracked elbow with just 326 lbs.

Isn't lifting 569 lbs be worthy of being labeled as world's strongest man?

  1. I saw some of these competitors in the over 105kg weight class and I must say that Steiner was the one that looked in better shape.

The others were big, but to me there was more fat than muscle, some looked like they had to struggle to clear the bar around their stomach.

Steiner had more muscular tone showing through his weight

  2. Technically he is and what a worthy winner having heard about his grievance for his deceased wife makes it even sweeter.

  3. when it comes to clean and jerk yeah because he specifically trained for that event. but what about other lifts? if he entered world's strongest man competition where they lift huge stones and cars i don't think he'd do too well if he wasn't trained to do such things

as of now he is strongest olympic clean-and-jerker lol

  4. Today, Tomorrow and no doubt for some time to come, he will be considered the strongest man in the world - just like Bolt is the fastest.

Matthias Steiner is also without doubt one of the most amazing stories to come out of this Olympics.

  5. May be he is the strong Olympian
