  1. The guitar sells for $100 and itis a fair size guitar for you. it is not like you are going to keep this guitar forever but, to learn to play, the guitar is good enough with a good sound.

You will probably have to change the strings to .010 to get a better action and easier to play.

I would personally go for a Takamine for slightly more expensive.

The sound and the investment will be better thatn the Dr 100. The playability and the finish are superior to the Epiphone and the action is set very low.

Your choice....but for your height, I would take the full size Takamie.

  2. There is no definitive "good beginner guitar" for a person of any size.  You should go to a local guitar store and try out a few of the different beginner models to decide what you like best.  Most guitars are roughly the same size (full size).  It's a matter of specs on the guitar that different players tend to guide themselves to.  The guitar you choose should also reflect the type of music you want to play.  I would recommend a classical nylon string acoustic to anyone who really wants to learn to play all types of guitar from classical to metal.  I started with a nylon and it was very easy to learn on.  However, I recommend that you always try before you buy.

  3. Personally, I'd go with an acoustic for beginners. It'll develop your callouses faster and it'll give you a better feel for the guitar. Height has nothing to do with the guitar, and you can look up prices on your own.
