I dunno. Are they? In Britian kids are being killed, knife crime is supposedly on the rise.

The economy is heading into a recession with no way of stopping it.

Yet... terrorism? Do you think our Government is using terrorism as an excuse to avoid its responsibilities and its obvious failings.

Hey they lost the Glasgow East by-election and that was meant to be the third safest seat in Scotland.

What's your opinion? All opinions welcome.

  1. Governments are supposed to be able to do more than one thing at a time, Mi5 suggest they know about 2000 British citizens currently suspected of terrorist activities and many thousands more supporting their cause, to ignore it would be ridiculous.

  2. This government has got its head ducked firmly in the sand, and is ignoring what is going on around us.

As to the poster who suggests that knife crime is down is wrong. The stats, TV / newspaper reports and figures that have been released from hospitals which is now how the government is getting a truer picture of knife crime is up. Its true papers/tv make the most of these stories but why should they not. And reading the tabloids is not necessarily a bad thing, often you get info in them that does not appear in a more controlled broadsheet.

Terrorism needs to be dealt with long term, and this government has indeed been looking the other way, political correctness now rules us all, do not upset the so called minorities in case we lose their votes seem to be the order of the day. And when did you ever hear a leading Muslim Cleric actually stand up and say that all fundamentalists are wrong and that the violence is against all their principles. You do not quite simply.

The security services do know of the levels of terrorist activity in the UK amongst the Muslim community in much the same way as they did when the terrorist organisaton the  IRA was at its height.

As to the same poster who says that we are not in a recession may be right for the moment but we are heading for one and much of the problems for that can be laid at Gordon Brown then Chancellor of the Exchequer who did not save any money quite literally for a rainy day. The economists have been saying this for years, who has been reponsible for plundering pensions, propping up ailing banks, with billions of tax papyers money, and generally running this country like a car boot sale, and of course if the Tories ever get back in they are going to have as many problems because of the current financial mess we are in. And to cap it all, will not be able to do anything about the problems we have encountered  with the Lisbon Treaty if it is ratified, as Brown and Sarkohzy want. As once signed, that's it, no going back.

did i say i read the Daily Mail you moron, and the stats are coming from the hospitals who treat people with knife and gun shot wounds, as they have a legal obligation to report these crimes to the police. Where once before the figures were from the police own records, and much was inaccurate, thats why this government has asked all hospitals to give the data on these victims of these senseless crimes. Plus many victims do not report it as they would likely put their lives in further danger.

  3. First of all knife crime is actually down by 18% but every incident reaches the press so it is perceived to be everywhere. (press causing hysteria through exaggerated claims as usual).

The economy is not heading into recession as there has to be 2+ negative months of growth and we have not had that either.

Your sources are worse than the tabloids.

Terrorism is what it is and if government did nothing you would be asking a different question.

Your last point just tells me you are probably a Tory having a pop but let me say:

Cameron does not want to be PM now as things will get much worse and all this would have happened with the tories. Any PM would suffer this crisis now.

If it gets worse under the tories will you still ask these questions?

The problem has been the lack of leadership

The poster called Teddy has her head in some sand saying that tabloids provide some nore useful info than the broadsheets - c**p! They would not know how to write an accurate account of anything without distortion.

Knife crime is down 18% and her tabloids have fuelled a dangerous perception in crime figures generally that lead gullible Daily Mail readers like her to talk nonsense from a rear o*****e.

  4. To be honest this government just doesn't care anymore. They know they will lose in two years so they are just busy feathering their nests. They don't live in the real world anyhow. Brown is the biggest d!ckhead going..

  5. I don't know about the U.K., but here in the U.S. the Bush Administration has taken us into a war that only 13% of our population supports.  Large corporations are making billions of dollars (pounds) as contractors and friends of the Administration.  All of our assets are being pushed into this ridiculous conflict at our peril.  It is all part of a larger plan though and certainly not a coincidence.  Go to

  6. Do you remember what swept Tony Blair into power?

Tough on crime and tough on the causes of crime

    Education, education, education!

Bilge, that's what it was, so much bilge water. He and his cronies didn't give a d**n! They've lined their own pockets and are continuing to do so and i don't hold out any hope that Cameron will be any different! The people in Westminster are now career politicians without any industry training or experience - in other words they could be working for Woolworths, instead of which they are claiming fat cat salaries and expenses without anyone saying - hang on a minute! There are more and more of them every year and they are all employing friends and family on silly exhorbitant salaries. We are being robbed or milked to death by cretins!
