The last ever Daisy Chain Run was in May 2004.

Due to a change in the members of Fawley District Council in 2005, a fee of several thousand pounds was demanded  to allow the run to meet at Gang Warily sports ground.  The run had always ended there and, as it was a charity ride, no charge had ever been made previously.

However, the new councillors decided they wanted their pound of flesh.  Unfortunately, this would have been unaffordable for the organisers and the 2005 run never went ahead.  There has been no Daisy Chain since 2004.
