Is the Honourable Artillery Company a Special Forces Regiment?

During my time in the HAC we were told not to speak about our activities to anyone including family and friends. Is the HAC a Special Forces Regiment?

The HAC is not a special forces regiment, however every person who joins one of the armed forces, is required to sign the official secrets act,  which means that they are restricted as to what they can say under penalty of military and civil law.

At the end of their service all military personnel (including the Reserves) are required to sign the Official Secrets Act.

If you were at HAC surely you would know if they were special forces or not. Put it this way, did you or anyone you knew ever go around with a big black rectangle over their eyes or turn up to parade through the window?!?

I wouldn't worry abot being list as those 'special types'.  You provide them the 'raining of metal'!  I would be honored to have you guys back me up with artillery.  I was in Force Recon in the US Marine Corps, we didn't have that luxury of artillery support, we were to far away for such engagement.  But I know for a fact that the grunts (those who do the real fighting) will be saved by your efforts of support, as long as your forward observer were there to establish those coordinates.  As recon, we had to act as forward observers, so I know the whole engagement!

Why settle for the title 'special', we don't "ride that short yellow bus to school" (it's an american term for 'retards' when referred to 'special')  I am an English chap myself that was born and raised in America...I love my roots of the English blood, I hang my coat-of-arms, carrying our proud name, the Spencers of Earl, yes, we are related to the Spencer of Earl, although we are distant cousins!  I respect you Britons very well, I have the priviledge to go on exercises with the four-two commandos of the British Marines while they came to visit us while I was with 24th MEU(SOC).
