Is the Hydrostone area of Halifax a good area to live?

We are moving to Halifax and looking at the Hydrostone area. We're looking for a safe, quiet neighbourhood.

Well its in the north end kinda close to some really scary far from quite areas somtimes there pk somtimes there not it kinda verys from year to year i mean in a north end comunity thats not too far away from the hydrostone somone got shot i thonk on moday night somone else was murdured erier in the year so security would be the biggest issue. Id say its pretty quite ur a little more sheltered from some of the craziness that will happen near by as far ae the look of the hydrostone its gorgous and the schools arnt terrible not the absolute best but ive seen alot worse anyway the hydrostone is nice and

a good price but u do have to risk some other things like broken windows and small theft

It has a good reputation in itself, but some rather dicey areas are nearby.  There are some trendy shops on Young St near the little monument and, of course, the fine stone buildings.
