  1. Yes.  Unlike the Federal Reserve, the IRS is a government agency.  It is under the Treasury Department, which is under the Executive Branch.

  3. Neither the Federal Reserve nor the IRS are government agencies.  It is not a coincidence that they were both established in 1913 either.  Even if they were government agencies I would just be lead me to conclude that they have even less credibility and usefulness for the average citizen.

    According to Ron Paul, in his book aptly named “The Revolution” he states that abolishing the income tax on individuals would cut government revenue by about 40% or to the point we were at in 1997.  If my memory serves me right, our economy was doing a lot better back then.  At the time politicians duped the people into accepting this “tariff” by telling them that only the richest of the rich would have to pay these taxes.  As we all know by now, that promise didn’t last very long.
